Mission

         

Meridian Hill Pictures was founded on the idea that every person, in every community, should have access to telling and experiencing real stories of importance and relevance to their lives. We aspire to create documentary films that educate, inspire and positively impact audiences locally, nationally and across the world. We aspire to help create the next generation of thoughtful storytellers and engaged, media-savvy citizens through innovative media education residencies. And through programming and events at The Picturehouse, we aspire to create new public spaces and forums for sharing documentary films and diverse perspectives.

Meridian Hill Pictures is a unique kind of documentary production company. Our team comprises talented filmmakers, educators, community organizers and social entrepreneurs. Our documentary film productions are as much about process as they are about the final cut. From the moment we begin a project, we become deeply invested in the community, people and issues. As we build a story, we build relationships and mutual understanding along the way. By the time a new film is ready to be shared with the world, we have mobilized a community of people invested in the project to collaborate in the effort to bring a story to wide audiences.
